REUSING Objects at the School
SOME STATISTICS:
Each American generates between 5 to 7 pounds of waste per day; over a ton per year; and over 175,000 lbs. in a lifetime.
It is estimated thaht 1.2 million tones of textiles are thrown away each year adding to our landfill sites.
14.3 million tones of household waste is not recycled.
An estimated 9.8 million tons of textiles were generated in 2001, or 4% of total municipal solid waste (MSM) generation.
REUSE is the attempt to extend the life of an item, it is important because it makes the first life last longer, shirking the need for recycling and saving enery, material and money in the process
